1. Who we are
Storage Snap ("we", "us", "our") operates Storage Snap. We act as the data controller for personal data we collect about our users.
2. Data we collect
- Account data: name, email, password hash.
- Content you upload: photos of your storage, item lists, notes, locations, categories, and labels.
- Usage & telemetry: pages viewed, features used, error reports, device type, browser, IP address.
- Support data: messages and attachments you send to support.
- Payment data: collected and processed by Paddle (our Merchant of Record). We receive only the limited information required to fulfill your subscription (e.g. plan, billing status, last 4 of card).
3. How we use it
- To create your account and provide the Service (legal basis: contract).
- To process payments and manage subscriptions (contract; legal obligation for tax/accounting).
- To secure the Service and prevent fraud (legitimate interest).
- To improve features and fix bugs (legitimate interest).
- To respond to support requests (contract / legitimate interest).
- To send service announcements (legitimate interest) and marketing emails when you opt in (consent — withdraw any time).
4. Who we share data with
- Service providers / subprocessors: hosting (Supabase), analytics, error monitoring, email delivery, customer support tooling.
- Paddle, our Merchant of Record, for sale of subscriptions, payments, tax compliance, and invoicing.
- Professional advisers (legal, accounting) on a need-to-know basis.
- Authorities when required by law or to protect rights and safety.
We do not sell your personal data.
5. International transfers
Some of our subprocessors are located outside the UK/EEA. Where applicable, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or adequacy decisions to safeguard transfers.
6. Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. After deletion, we retain a limited subset (e.g. invoices) for up to 7 years to meet legal/accounting obligations, then delete or anonymize it. Backups are rotated within 30 days.
7. Your rights
Subject to local law, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict, or port your personal data, to object to processing, and to withdraw consent. EU/UK users have the right to lodge a complaint with their supervisory authority. We aim to respond within 30 days. To exercise any right, email support@storagesnap.app.
8. Security
We use appropriate technical and organisational measures including encryption in transit (TLS), encryption at rest, role-based access controls, and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
9. Cookies
We use essential cookies to keep you signed in and to remember preferences. We may use limited analytics cookies to understand product usage. You can manage cookies in your browser settings.
10. Children
The Service is not directed to children under 13 (or the equivalent minimum age in your jurisdiction). We don't knowingly collect data from children.
11. Changes
We'll post changes to this policy here and, for material changes, notify you by email or in-app notice.
